Cheerleaders are employees and important members of their team’s community. They are also a part of the sport experience and should be treated with respect and be safe in their workplace.
Last week over 20 people gathered for a Think Tank of researchers who explored key research questions that aim to expand the body of evidence for sexual and domestic violence prevention in and through sport, with the goal of developing recommendations to advance these efforts.
Sports are important to me. They have given me great memories with my father, bonded me to lifelong friends, provided life lessons and exposed me to some of the most amazing moments in life. I gained life skills from sports that have permeated throughout my life and still show up when I do my best as an employee, a friend and a citizen.
