About the Sport Pipeline

The 'sport pipeline' represents the stages in the sport system that support a particular developmental stage in sport (ex. youth leagues, high school teams, collegiate athletic programs, and profession clubs).

Search the Prevention Database to find strategies being implemented that focus on specific parts of the Sport Pipeline - youth-age, high school-age, college-age, and professional-level – at the national, state, and local level.

Youth age- These strategies focus on one part of the sport pipeline - young athletes ages 3 to 13 and/or sport organizations, leagues, or clubs working with that age group - to prevent SV/DV at the local, state, and national level.

High School age- These strategies focus on one part of the sport pipeline -athletes ages 14 to 18 and/or sport organizations, school or club leagues working with that age group – to prevent SV/DV at the local, state, and national level.

College age– These strategies focus on one part of the sport pipeline - athletes ages 19 to 23 and/or sport organizations, school or university, or club leagues working with that age group – to prevent SV/DV at the local, state, and national level.

Professional age– These strategies focus on one part of the sport pipeline - sport organizations, club, or leagues employing or working with professional athletes – to prevent SV/DV at the local, state, and national level.
