A 6-step guide to saftey & gender equity in sports.
This toolkit includes resources for Executive Directors, Club Presidents, Coaching Directors or other leaders of community athletic organizations. The resources included will teach your coaches to promote safety, respect, and gender equity with all players. This guide is meant to provide examples and a framework for the development of your organization’s policies and procedures. Our previous work with the Minnesota State High School League, Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association, Winona Youth Soccer Association, and other sports organizations, has taught us that every organization is unique. InSideOut Initiative
To reclaim the educational purpose of sports, school communities must work together to redefine the purpose, and intentionally align key stakeholders around this purpose. It’s critical that school leaders and communities have an in-depth understanding of the purpose of education-based athletic programs, and use a shared common language. The InSideOut System provides a pathway for systemic change—moving educational communities through a four-part process centering on Awareness, Alignment, Action, and Accountability.
- Awareness – Defines the purpose of education-based athletics
- Alignment – Instills a common language
- Action – Provides education, resources and tools
- Accountability – Establishes clear expectations, policies and procedures
